How We Get Paid

We believe you should know exactly how a directory makes money before you trust its recommendations. Here's how Inventory Ready works.

Our Revenue Model

Free listings: Every manufacturer in our directory has a free listing that includes our full six-gate assessment. Free listings are assessed with exactly the same methodology and standards as paid listings.

Enhanced profiles: Manufacturers can pay for enhanced directory profiles that include additional visibility features — such as expanded descriptions, photos, and placement options. Enhanced profiles are clearly marked.

What Money Does Not Affect

  • Assessment methodology — the same six gates apply to every manufacturer, free or paid
  • Gate criteria — what constitutes evidence, freshness, or provenance doesn't change based on payment
  • Limitations disclosure — paid manufacturers still have a "What We Couldn't Verify" section
  • Listing removal — if a manufacturer no longer meets our standards, the listing comes down regardless of payment status

The Editorial Firewall

Revenue and editorial functions are separate. The person who assesses a manufacturer is not the person negotiating enhanced profile agreements. Assessment results are never shared with the sales function before publication.

This isn't just policy — it's the reason this directory exists. If we compromised assessment integrity for revenue, we'd be just another pay-to-play directory. There are enough of those already.

Disclosure in Practice

Every manufacturer listing includes a disclosure section. If a manufacturer has any business relationship with Inventory Ready beyond a free listing, you'll see it directly on their profile. No footnotes, no fine print.
