IFANCA Halal Certification

Issued by Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA)

Certification

Audit Scope

Reviews ingredients, processing aids, equipment, and facilities for compliance with Islamic dietary law (halal). Includes ingredient halal status, cross-contamination prevention with haram (non-halal) substances, and slaughter protocols where applicable.

What It Proves

A product, facility, or ingredient has been certified by IFANCA as meeting halal standards. IFANCA is a US-based halal certifier with global recognition; uses the Crescent-M symbol.

What It Does Not Prove

IFANCA halal does NOT certify GMP, food safety, allergen control, or organic claims. Halal certification varies by certifying body — IFANCA's standards may differ from JAKIM (Malaysia) or MUI (Indonesia) for export markets. Buyers exporting to specific countries should verify the destination market accepts IFANCA certification.
