Product-level banned-substance certification aimed at active-lifestyle consumers rather than drug-tested athletes: initial product testing plus ongoing blind testing of retail samples (purchased at least monthly, with at least twelve random lots or batches tested per year) using ISO/IEC 17025 accredited methods, after a pre-certification product and manufacturing quality review.
What It Proves
The product is certified under LGC's Informed Choice program: retail samples are purchased and blind-tested for banned substances at least monthly, with at least twelve random lots or batches tested per year. Certified products are searchable in the public database.
What It Does Not Prove
Does NOT test every batch before release; that is Informed Sport, a separate and stricter LGC program. Elite or drug-tested athletes should look for Informed Sport certification specifically, not Informed Choice. Does NOT certify the brand or the manufacturing facility as a whole. Does NOT guarantee zero contamination risk (testing has detection limits).
