ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Accreditation
Issued by ISO / IEC (accredited by bodies like A2LA, SCC, ANAB)
StandardAudit Scope
Laboratory competence for testing and calibration. Covers management system, technical competence, impartiality, consistent operation.
What It Proves
Laboratory has been independently accredited for technical competence in specific test methods. Accreditation body (A2LA, SCC, etc.) conducts regular assessments.
What It Does Not Prove
Accreditation is method-specific — a lab accredited for heavy metals testing may NOT be accredited for potency testing. Always check the scope of accreditation, not just the ISO 17025 claim. 'Lab' suffix in raw labels is redundant (17025 only applies to laboratories).
