What It Means
BRCGS Global Standard for Storage and Distribution (Issue 4, 2020) is a GFSI-benchmarked certification covering food, packaging, and consumer products storage and distribution. It applies to warehousing, distribution centers, and transport operations. Ratings range from AA+ (highest) through D (lowest). Certification is site-specific and listed in the public BRCGS Directory. For supplement 3PLs, BRCGS S&D is one of only two storage-specific GFSI certifications (alongside SQF S&D) that directly validate warehouse operational controls.
What It Is Not
BRCGS S&D is not the same as BRCGS Food Safety (for manufacturing). S&D specifically covers storage and distribution operations. A BRCGS S&D certificate at one facility does not cover other facilities in a network.
