GFSI Benchmarked Certification
Issued by Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) — benchmarks schemes, does not certify directly
CertifierAudit Scope
GFSI benchmarks certification schemes (SQF, FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS). A 'GFSI Certified' claim means certified under a GFSI-recognized scheme.
What It Proves
Facility or organization holds a certification under a GFSI-benchmarked scheme.
What It Does Not Prove
GFSI does NOT issue certifications directly — it benchmarks other schemes. 'GFSI Certified' is imprecise; the actual scheme (SQF, FSSC 22000, BRC, etc.) matters. 'Partner Facilities' qualifier means the company itself may not hold the certification. 'GFSI-Benchmarked Certification Body' means the org certifies others — it is not itself a food manufacturer.
