BRCGS Global Standard for Packaging Materials

Issued by BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards)

Standard

Audit Scope

Food packaging material manufacturing: HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) aligned with Codex Alimentarius, packaging material safety, quality management, product control, process control, personnel, site standards.

What It Proves

Packaging manufacturing facility has been audited against BRCGS Global Standard for Packaging Materials. Issue 7 (published October 28, 2024, audits from April 28, 2025) aligns HARA with Codex Alimentarius HACCP principles. GFSI-benchmarked.

What It Does Not Prove

BRCGS Packaging certification demonstrates food-packaging quality systems at the certified SITE. It does NOT satisfy 21 CFR Part 111 supplement handling requirements. A packaging printer's BRCGS Packaging certification cannot substitute for a supplement manufacturer's CGMP compliance. Scope, site, and edition must all match the actual service being purchased. Issue 7 is distinct from BRCGS Food Safety (for food manufacturing) and BRCGS Storage & Distribution (for warehousing).
