Overview

Linnea SA is a Swiss manufacturer of botanical extracts and active pharmaceutical ingredients in Riazzino, in the canton of Ticino, making extracts since 1982. Its supplement ingredients include HMRlignan, extracted from Norway spruce knots, and red clover, bilberry, ginkgo biloba and 5-HTP. Swissmedic lists its Riazzino site as GMP compliant for medicinal products and active substances, including extraction from plant sources. In a novel-food application summary published by the European Commission, Linnea stated that HMRlignan is marketed in the USA as a dietary supplement. In 2025, Vivalto Partners and Linnea's executive team acquired the company.
