USDA Organic Certification

Issued by USDA (via accredited certifying agents: QAI, QCS, Oregon Tilth, etc.)

Certification

Audit Scope

Organic handling, processing, or production per USDA National Organic Program (NOP). Annual inspection by accredited certifying agent.

What It Proves

Facility or specific products meet USDA NOP organic standards. Certified by an accredited third-party agent (QAI, QCS, etc.). Annual inspections required.

What It Does Not Prove

Organic certification addresses agricultural practices and ingredient sourcing — it does NOT verify supplement efficacy, safety, or cGMP compliance. 'Organic Handler' is a different certification scope than 'Organic Producer.' 'Certified Organic Options' is vague — may mean only some ingredients or products qualify.
