Branded ingredients are trademarked raw materials. You buy the material and license the name. This page tracks who owns each mark, how access works, and whether supply is open to new customers right now, with dates and sources. It is a reference for ingredients themselves. How to evaluate a branded ingredient
The evaluation criteria matter more than any brand name. Before paying a premium over the generic form, check:
- Specification. What does the spec sheet guarantee that the generic form does not? Ask for the technical data sheet and compare limits, not marketing pages.
- Testing and seal verification. Does the owner run a verification program (lot codes, seal lookups)? Can you check a finished product against it?
- Traceability. Where is it made, and can the owner document the site? Single-site ingredients concentrate supply risk.
- Licensing terms. What does the trademark license require: minimum dose, label wording, logo rules, volume commitments?
- Supply security. Is the owner accepting new customers, and what happens to your product line if allocation tightens? That is what the board below tracks.
